Discovery/Sensory Bottles
Ok Folks, so my mommy has been so lousy lately at keeping up on my blog. It's not like we have done nothing or she has not taken any pictures or anything but she has just been a little bit busy and has forgotten to take the time to blog on my account. But today we did a pretty fun project and she actually remembered to take pictures so I am loaning my blog to her for the evening so she can fill you in on our fun day.
Koda
(The Mommy)
So I have seen these fun discovery/sensory bottles popping up a lot on pinterest lately and I have been dying to try them. We finally had a few empty bottles saved up and decided to give it a try. After grabbing some odds and ends from Mema's yesterday and going through our house today it looked like we had enough "stuff" to put into bottles. So we started.
The OCD part of my brain is still freaking out because the bottles are not all uniform in size but the "don't- be-THAT-kind-of-mom" part of my brain decided to let it slide because the frugal part of my brain is way too cheap to go buy a bunch of bottles that are the same size just to please the OCD part of my brain.
So we moved forward with a bunch of mismatched bottles. (Deep breath) !!!
I pretty much put on my "awesome mommy" cape and let him put whatever he wanted into the bottles.
Shampoo
Hair Gel
Hot glued the lids on.
And cleaning up our huge mess.
He was so excited
So fun( even though the different sizes are still stressing me out)
An I Spy bottle filled with green beans, Find the letters and numbers in the pasta, Shampoo with "stuff".
These were Koda's favorites. Water with red, yellow and then more red(remember I let him do what he wanted) food coloring, blue glitter and soap. Water with blue coloring and blue glitter. Water and veggie oil and blue glitter and a toy submarine.
This one is filled with random things and we call it our "is it magnetic or not bottle?" .
Can you tell that I didn't even help him fake is enthusiasm for this pic:) But really he does like the I Spy bottle.
And another staged excitement shot. But again he loves this one. Probably the most simple one, water and glitter but he thinks it makes amazing tornadoes.
Watching to see if the things in the gel or shampoo bottle "win".
Even I was entertained for quite a while with these fun bottles.
Waiting for the oil and water to separate after a vigorous shaking.
Finding the letters and numbers.
Watching magnetic objects swing from a magnet.
We will be taking these to share with our friends at school this week. This was such a fun project and the making of the bottles and then playing with them kept us busy all day. So much fun.
And now I will sign off and give Dakoda his blog back:)
